Knife Thugs Arrested

TWO men have been arrested and a knife has been seized following reports of ‘men acting suspiciously’.
Armed police responded to reports of suspicious behaviour in the Hamlet Court Road area on Friday, July 9, with one of the men said to be armed with a knife.
A property in Grosvenor Mews was entered shortly after 11pm and two men were arrested.
They were detained on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon following the police operation.
The armed response followed multiple calls from residents who were concerned over suspicious behaviour.
Eyewitnesses describe armed police descending on the road, and that a loud disturbance was heard as the officers smashed a door down.
The Police confirmed that a knife was seized at the scene.
Temporary superintendent Dave Browning, Southend district commander, said: “The information received meant we were able to act incredibly quickly and safely to ensure that two people were arrested and a knife was seized.”
