Spoken Word Sessions - THE Dixon Studio in the Palace Theatre has bene host of popular session over the past year

THE Dixon Studio in the Palace Theatre has been host of popular session over the past year, featuring local creatives and performers.
The Dixon Sessions return for 2026, kicking off the programme on Friday 30 January with a spoken word special featuring local poet Sam Browne, who is joined by Hollie Dee and The Cherry Scott Project.
Sam Browne, 21, is from Southend and originally set out to be a comedian, but soon realised that his jokes rhymed and none of them were particularly funny.
He pivoted to poetry and things began to click. Since this change of direction, Sam has amassed an online following of more than 100,000 followers across social media and tens of millions of views.
Hollie Dee is a performance poet, well-respected on the spoken word circuit. She describes herself as a free spirit and performs heart-wrenching and engaging pieces.
The Cherry Scott Project is the creative endeavour of Roy Storey & Cherry Scott: Scott’s gritty urban words and Storey’s original music score produce an arty ambience with bursts of colourful energy.
Tickets for all spring 2026 Dixon Sessions are £12, on sale now at palacetheatresouthend.co.uk or call 0343 310 0030.
