Leigh Councillor Thanked

A LEIGH councillor has been thanked by a charity for raising over £1,200 as part of his chosen ‘Charity of the Year.’
Pasted Chairman of Leigh Town Council, Coun Bernard Arscott, chose St Vincent’s in Southend, donating a total of £1,229,13 raised through various community events.
The funds will help support the charity’s winter provision, which supports people with food, warmth, and mental health support.
A spokesperson thanked Leigh Town Council and Bernard Arscott, stating: “We are incredibly grateful to Bernard Arscott for choosing St Vincent’s Southend as their Charity of the Year and raising an amazing £1,200.
“This funding will directly support our winter provision, helping us reach over 500 people each week with a wide range of support — from food and warmth, to stabilising mental health, rebuilding confidence and helping people find a clear pathway forward.
“At St Vincent’s, we remain committed to being a place of Help, Hope and Opportunity, especially for those who need it most during the hardest months of the year.”
