A MOMENTOUS moment for a Southend music charity has arrived, as pre-sale tickets go live for The Music Man Project’s debut New York show.
The Music Man Project UK, which was founded in Leigh by David Stanley BEM, provides music education and performance opportunities for people with learning disabilities.
They project will be performing their original show ‘Music Is Magic on Broadway: The Story of The Music Man Project’ on October 7 at The Town Hall, 123 West 43rd Street.
The production will feature the charity’s global ambassadors, The Music Man Band and guest singers, bringing a message of inclusion to an international stage.
The award-winning music charity has already performed to great acclaim at The Royal Albert Hall and the London Palladium.
The performance will be a tribute to the late Sir David Amess, who was a long-time champion and patron of The Music Man Project.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “This is a landmark moment, not just for The Music Man Project, but for Southend, Essex and the entire UK. We’re taking our story, our community and our message of possibility to one of the greatest stages in the world.
