Zelensky Speaks In Parliament

A SOUTH Essex MP was present to hear President Zelensky of Ukraine address the British Parliamentarians, recently.
Mark Francois, the MP for Rayleigh and Wickford and also Shadow Armed Forces Minister, was one of a selected group of MPs and Peers, who were invited to listen to the Ukrainian President address both Houses of Parliament, in the historic Committee Room 14, of the Commons.
During his address, which was introduced by the Speaker of the Commons, Lyndsey Hoyle MP, the President thanked all present for the UK’s strong support for his countrymen and stressed that Ukraine has been at war for twelve years (since the first Russian invasion of Crimea and the Donbas in 2014) – longer than both the First and Second World Wars, put together.
He also called for tougher sanctions, to bring Russia meaningfully to the negotiating table.
Commenting on the speech, Mr Francois, who recently visited Odesa, Chernobyl and Kyiv, as part of a British Parliamentary Delegation, said: “President Zelensky is a powerful speaker – and also by now an expert in drone warfare, about which he shared a number of insights, including their use by Iran, in the Gulf.
“It was an absolute privilege to listen to him. Slava Ukraini!”
