GP Surgery Expansion

A SOUTH Essex MP has warmly welcomed a planning decision to allow the creation of a new expansion for a popular GP surgery, in his constituency.
Mark Francois, the MP for Rayleigh and Wickford was reacting to news that Rochford District Council gave planning permission, to convert the former Barratt David Wilson sales office, on the High Elms Park estate in Hullbridge, into an annexe, including three GP consulting rooms and associated facilities, to help expand the popular Riverside Medical Centre, on Ferry Road.
Commenting on this welcome development, Mr Francois said: “I have been working alongside the Partners at Riverside for over six years, in trying to expand their physical capacity, to treat new patients, including those moving onto the new estate.
“After years of battling stifling NHS bureaucracy, I would like to thank Barratt’s for finally solving the problem, by making the now redundant sales office available and also Rochford District Council, for now passing the associated planning application, for that new purpose.
“After internal conversion work, the new medical annexe should now hopefully open later this summer, which will be a real win for both the Practice and the patients they are seeking to serve, in Hullbridge and beyond.
“Well done to all involved.”
