A CELEBRATION of music and heritage is returning to the atmospheric fishing town of Leigh.
This year’s Old Leigh Shanty Festival will run from Saturday 16th to Sunday 17th May 2026 at Strand Wharf in the Old Town.
A range of Shanty Crews will perform across the historic fishing village throughout the weekend.
The Sealed Knot re-enactment association from the Blew Regiment will also attend, showing what life was like for soldiers in the English Civil War.
The association will be showcasing a range of historic weapons and equipment.
The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
A spokesperson said: “Shanty crews will celebrate in the only way they know how – singing songs of the sea.”
