Welcome Chelsea Pensioner

A GROUP of Conservatives were proud to welcome a Chelsea Pensioner, when he addressed their monthly supper club recently, about life in the Royal Hospital at Chelsea.
Sergeant Ted Fell, who joined the British Army during National Service in the late 1950s and then converted to a regular soldier, spent most of his career in the Royal Artillery.
Following his retirement, he worked with the police and then eventually became an in-Pensioner at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea.
Sergeant Fell delighted his guests by telling them a number of anecdotes from his Army career and also what it was now like to live at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, where he also acts as a tour guide – including recently for King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Speaking about the event, Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, said: “As a former serviceman myself and now the Shadow Armed Forces Minister, it was an absolute pleasure to have Sergeant Ted Fell, from the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, address our monthly Supper Club about life as a Chelsea Pensioner.
“Ted is both a highly interesting and very amusing speaker and a great evening was had by all concerned. I would like to place on the record all of our thanks to Sergeant Fell and indeed all of his fellow Chelsea Pensioners for their military service for their country, which is deeply appreciated.”
