A WOMAN is due to appear in court charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a collision in Westcliff in December 2024.
Ruth Sarkodie, 32, of St John’s Road, Westcliff, is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving a vehicle – driver uninsured/unlicensed and fraud by false representation.
It follows an investigation by serious collision officers into a fatal collision involving two pedestrians and a car at the junction of Hamlet Court Road and St John’s Road on the evening of Thursday 12 December.
Both pedestrians, a mother and her 23-year-old daughter, were taken to hospital, but sadly, Anna-Marie Stevens, 52, died in hospital.
Ruth Sarkodie, who is currently on conditional bail, is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Monday 11 May.
