School Trauma Kits - EVERY mainstream secondary school in Southend West and Leigh has now received a trauma kit to help deal with medical emergencies.

EVERY mainstream secondary school in Southend West and Leigh has now received a trauma kit to help deal with medical emergencies.
The constituency’s MP, David Burton-Sampson, visited the last few schools in his constituency without one, to deliver the medical kits.
He said: “We always hope that we will not need to deal with a medical emergency but if we do, it is a great thing to have one of these kits to hand.
“That is why I undertook my Miles for Lives Walk and now all the money raised has bought these packs and all our schools have received one, helping keep our children safe.”
The medical packs are the brainchild of Julie Taylor, who has been working with the MP, to help achieve her goal of supplying an emergency kit to all secondary schools.
Ms Taylor set-up The Liam Taylor Legacy for her grandson, Liam, who was tragically stabbed on a night out with friends in Writtle in 2020, when there was no first aid equipment nearby.
Mr Burton-Sampson presented the last of the kits to Belfairs Academy, Westcliff High School for Girls, Eastwood Academy and Victory Park Academy and Sutton House Academy.
He said: “I support Julie’s efforts to distribute these trauma packs as widely as possible. They have already saved lives.”
