Star Wars Convention

A NEW Star Wars fan convention, Galaxypalooza, will take place at The Mill Arts & Events Centre in Rayleigh on Saturday 6th June, bringing together cosplay, gaming, artists and independent vendors for a family-friendly day celebrating the Star Wars fandom in Essex and supporting Leigh charity Gold Geese.
Being the first event of its kind in Rayleigh, Galaxypalooza has already attracted hundreds of attendees, with fans travelling from across the world to attend – including visitors making the journey from as far as California (yes, really).
Attendees can expect a full day celebrating all eras of Star Wars, including celebrity guests and signers from the films and Disney+ series, live panels, cosplay, artists, authors, collectors and traders.
The event will also feature comic book sellers, collectibles, lightsabers, custom artwork, photo opportunities and a cosplay competition.
Galaxypalooza is also proud to be supporting Leigh based charity Gold Geese, helping raise awareness for the work they do supporting families of children fighting cancer across Essex.
“We wanted to create something that feels like a true celebration of all things Star Wars.
“Essex and Rayleigh haven’t experienced an event like this in a long time. We can’t wait to welcome fans of all ages,” said Luke Bligh, one of the organisers of Galaxypalooza and host of the Star Wars Sessions podcast.
“There’s a huge fandom community in Essex, and we wanted to bring that experience closer to home while also supporting local artists, businesses and charities.”
Galaxypalooza will take place on Saturday 6th June at The Mill Arts & Events Centre in Rayleigh, Essex, from 9am to 5pm. VIP tickets are now sold out, but standard tickets are available via galaxypalooza.co.uk, with visitors encouraged to book in advance due to limited venue capacity.
