TWO Essex MPs – one Conservative and the other Labour – demonstrated that they have “more in common” at a special event to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the murder of Jo Cox MP.
The event, which was held is Speaker’s House, in Parliament, brought together Mark Francois, Tory MP for Rayleigh & Wickford and Chris Vince, the Labour MP for Harlow, who both displayed their support for Jo Cox’s famous phrase: “We have more in common than divides us.”
Speaking about the event, Mr Francois said: “Like my great friend, the late Sir David Amess, Jo Cox was also killed in the line of duty, serving her constituents. So, it was nice to combine with Chris, to honour her memory and to show that, contrary to popular belief, MPs from different parties can sometimes work together, for the common good.”
