Club Veteran’s Award

A SOUTH Essex MP presented a special shield to a local football club’s long serving supporter, at their recent end of season awards.
Rayleigh’s MP, Mark Francois, presented the Rayleigh FC Club Chairman’s Award to long-time member Robert Smith, who has served the Club, in a variety of capacities, for over 25 years.
Commenting on the award presented at the club’s awards ceremony at the Chichester Playing Fields, Rawreth, Mr Francois, said: “I have been associated with Rayleigh FC for many years now and have always been pleased to help hand out some of their end of season awards – which now takes a weekend as they field 66 teams, both male and female.
“Robert has been a loyal servant to this excellent club for a quarter of a century, so it was a pleasure to present him with the Chairman’s award, in recognition of his loyal service.”
