‘A Cracking Event’

A COMMUNITY event drew large crowds on a day of traditional community entertainment.
The Rayleigh Trinity Fair, held on Sunday, June 14th, transformed Rayleigh High Street with a packed day of live music, amusements and activities.
Visitors enjoyed performances on stage alongside a wide range of community displays and attractions.
The event featured a vintage fair and classic car show at Rayleigh Windmill, with visitors welcomed by volunteers in period costume.
Mill Hall hosted a craft gift fair, while children’s theatre performance and community demonstrations added to the program.
The Royal British Legion provided refreshments and live music, while Holy Trinity Church offered a quiet space for reflection alongside activities on the green.
A new community area showcased dance, boxing and other demonstrations of talent from across the town.
The event is a proud local tradition dating back to 1227.
Whilst the original Trinity Fair – a staple of Rayleigh life – was closed in 1899 for becoming “too rowdy,” it is now revived as a much-loved and family-friendly staple on the town’s calendar.
Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford attended the event, and said: “I would like to thank Rayleigh Town Council and all the volunteers for a job well done.
“There was a very good turnout. It was a cracking event.”
