New Breakfast Clubs

TWO more schools in David Burton-Sampson’s constituency will provide free breakfasts for their pupils come September, thanks to the government’s scheme.
It has been announced that Eastwood Primary School and Nursery and Kingsdown Special School will join Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary, Victory Park Academy and Sutton House Academy, who already provide free breakfasts and child-care on site before school.
Mr Burton-Sampson, MP for Southend West & Leigh, said:” I’ve been working hard in parliament to get more Best Start free breakfast clubs here and I’m absolutely delighted to see this happening.
“This expansion secures savings for local families when they need it most and will mean every child, no matter their background, can feel the benefits of a nutritious breakfast before school. It could save families up to £450 a year.
“The clubs boost children’s attendance, attainment, wellbeing, and readiness to learn. Children arrive more settled, fed and ready to learn from the moment the school day begins.
“I’m looking forward to seeing more clubs to open up in the future!”
As well as cutting the costs for parents ahead of new school year through free breakfast clubs, families can also get 30 hours of free childcare and from September new rules to cap branded uniforms will also help slash the cost of going to school.
