THE Chairman of Leigh Town Council held an Easter lucky dip in aid of his annual chosen charity.

Coun Keith Evans chose Leigh-based Gold Geese as the beneficiaries of his fundraising activities.

Nearly £200 was raised at the two-day Easter event, which took place at Leigh Community Centre.

Ruby and Harry, the grandchildren of Coun Evans, assisted in running the event.

Coun Evans said: “I wish to thank all those who took part in raising funds and raising awareness of this local Leigh based charity supporting children with cancer and their families.”
