Leigh On Sea News: Drink Driver Banned -A MAN has been banned from driving for three years after being caught drink driving on Rayleigh Road, Rochford, just hours before he was due in court for a previous drug driving offence.
Thomas Keeble, 22, of Ridgeway, Rayleigh, appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on 20 November 2025, where he was sentenced to a 36-month driving disqualification and 150 hours of unpaid work as part of a community order.
A police statement said: “Keeble was stopped by officers from our Special Constabulary in the early hours of 19 October after his vehicle was seen travelling at speed and checks revealed it had no valid MOT.
“He provided a roadside breath test reading of 67 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath – almost twice the legal limit – and later blew 77 in custody.
“Further checks revealed Keeble was already due in court the following day for a separate drug driving offence committed in April.
“This case highlights the dangers posed by those who repeatedly choose to drive under the influence.
“Essex Police is committed to keeping people safe on our roads and will continue to take robust action against drink and drug drivers.
“Driving while impaired is never worth the risk – it endangers lives and can lead to serious consequences.
“We urge anyone who suspects someone is driving under the influence to report it immediately. Together, we can make our roads safer.”
