DEDICATED volunteers collected 22 bags of litter from around Rochford District.
The Rochford District Litter Pickers operated from Warners Bridge Southend Road to Hall Road, behind the station and carpark and near the golf course, in the course of their activities.
Strange finds included a plastic ear, and the base of a vehicle.
A spokesperson said: “Rochford had bumpers, hubcaps, signage and temporary traffic lights reported to be removed, flyers and posters were fly tipped, broken glass, a plastic ear, base of a vehicle, vapes recycled, Southend United Football Club plastic cup, and a small table and two chairs, umbrella, screwdriver, foodstuff.
“Our Hockley volunteers covered Spa Road, Hawkwell Road, White Hart common and playground, Hockley Rise, footpath behind Belchamps, Sunny Road and library today.
In total we collected 22 bags of non- recyclable rubbish including three sacks of recycling and a tin full of vapes.
“A huge well done everyone involved, we can’t imagine what it would look like if we didn’t turn out weekly!”
