A GROUP of staff and sixth form students from Westcliff High School for Boys (WHSB) are taking part in a 24-hour running fundraiser.

The students are signed up to take part in the HARP24 Endurance Challenge, taking place on June 21.

The 24-hour relay gets teams to run as far as possible to raise funds for HARP, Southend’s leading charity for those experiencing homelessness.

In previous years, WHSB has raised over £1000 pounds for the charity, taking part in this annual event to support of the work HARP undertake.

HARP helps local people overcome homelessness for good, providing access to accommodation and support to give people the best chance of leaving the streets behind.

On average the charity assists over 1,000 people every year who are either homeless or at risk.

A donation page has been set up by the school.
