Annual Duck Race - THE Leigh On Sea Lions Club Annual duck race is set to take place on Sunday 21 June in Old Leigh.

THE Leigh On Sea Lions Club Annual duck race is set to take place on Sunday 21 June in Old Leigh.
The charity event starts at 12.00 pm when Leigh Lions will be running a book stall and various games on Strand Wharf.
However, the highlight of the day is the actual duck race. As the tide comes in 1400 numbered plastic ducks will be released into the estuary. They will race down the river to the finish line at Belton Bridge.
Tickets for this race will be available on Strand Wharf and at various establishments in Old Leigh. The tickets are £1 each and there are cash prizes for the owners of the tickets whose numbers are found on the first four ducks.
A spokesperson said: “We cannot predict the start time as the race is dependent on the wind and the tide.
“However there will be regular updates on social media and on Strand Wharf as to when the race is likely to start.”
