Appealing For Volunteers

A HOSPICE charity in South Essex is appealing for volunteers to support a major running event this summer.
Havens Hospices is seeking people to help with the Southend Half Marathon which takes place on June 14.
The charity explains that volunteers are needed for range of tasks, such as an event set up and pack down, marshalling along the route to encourage runners, and supporting water stations to help participants keep hydrated.
Volunteers will be asked to give around six hours on Saturday, June 13 and eight hours on Sunday, June 14, depending on the role.
