FRIENDS of Mill Hall have welcomed news that the Cafe at The Mill is reopening on 23rd February.
The Cafe was closed when the Mill Arts and Events Centre was shut at the start of the Covid pandemic.
The whole facility was threatened with demolition during the pandemic, but survived as a result of widespread public concern. Since reopening it has proved a popular venue for both daytime community club use and entertainment events evenings and weekends. However, the cafe has remained shut despite public demand.
Mark Austin of Friends of Mill Hall is a successful music promoter at The Mill and has concerts lined up this year with Dean Friedman, China Crisis and The Korgis.
He said: “People love this venue, but we have found the top concern of users and the general public is the lack of a Cafe facility at Mill Hall.
“This has been very frustrating as the cafe was there, but locked and unused. We are now excited to hear the Cafe will reopen which will be great news for everyone who uses the facility and local residents generally.
“We are very grateful for all those who finally got the cafe reopening over the line.”
The new Mill Hall Cafe will be run be Eternity Events who currently operate the bar. They plan popular favourites like jacket potatoes, paninis, soups, desserts etc. plus of course tea, coffee and cake. The Cafe opening hours will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and Sundays when there is an event on at The Mill Arts & Events Centre.
