THE Homeless Action Resource Project (HARP) is set to receive £3,308,883 of funding through the Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme, to deliver 32 homes by redeveloping and retrofitting existing properties.
The Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme targets adults with histories of sleeping rough and people aged 16-25 sleeping rough or at risk. The Programme aims to not only provide housing for rough sleepers, but will also give tailored support to help those most in need off the streets, rebuild their lives, and begin to live independently.
In April, Sir James Duddridge MP and Felicity Buchan MP, Minister for Housing and Homelessness, visited Bluebird, HARP’s new supported housing accommodation for local people affected by homelessness.
Commenting Sir James said: “I am pleased that HARP has been awarded £3.3 million to continue the fantastic work they do to address homelessness and rough sleeping across the city.
“Visiting Bluebird earlier this year with the Minister showed us both how life-changing HARP’s work has been to those affected by homelessness get back on their feet again.”
