Temperatures and moods were high as over 125 free performances and ticketed evening events took over Leigh and the wider City of Southend.

This year the festival, which was established back in 1992, celebrated its 30th anniversary, making it an extra special rendition of the annual event, which is said to be the UK’s largest free festival of its kind.

Visitors enjoyed a mix of acts in a host of venues from Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 June, immersing the town once again in over four days of sound, dance, comedy, spoken word, workshops, and street food.

Described by the organisers as: “truly the most ambitious Leigh Folk Festival in our 30-year history,” the festival headlined with standout concerts from She’koyokh, l Johnny Butler & Alex Oliva, and Kadialy Kouyate.
