A LEIGH trust dedicated to supporting an historic boat has announced its Laying Up Supper.
The Endeavour trust will be holding its charity celebration meal to mark the end of the Dunkirk “Little Boat’s” season in Essex County Bowling Club, 21 Imperial Avenue, Westcliff, SS0 8NE.
The Endeavour boat is famous for having taken part in Operation Dynamo that evacuated many servicemen from the beaches of Dunkirk during in the Second World War.
The event, on Friday November 7th will start at 7pm and promises to be a wonderful opportunity for everyone to gather, and celebrate the end of the season.
The menu ranges from tomato and basil soup or pate and toast with red onion relish for starters, plus roast beef or turkey, Yorkshire pudding, salmon steak in a lemon and white wine sauce or Mediterranean vegetable tart for main courses.
Desserts include lemon meringue posset or strawberry gateau with cream or by cheese and biscuits followed by coffee and chocolate mints
