Rayleigh & Wickford MP and Shadow Armed Forces Minister, Mark Francois, ‘did his bit’ to
help raise funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2025, by helping to collect donations from commuters at London’s Victoria station.
Mr Francois’s contribution was part of London Poppy Day, when rail and tube stations across the capital are manned by volunteers, helping to raise funds – including from Essex commuters – for the Legion.
Speaking about his participation in the London-wide event, Mr Francois said: “It was a pleasure to do a morning shift at Victoria Station today, to help collect contributions to the Poppy Appeal.
“I was struck by how generous some commuters were, in giving to this very worthy charity, which does so much to help care for those who have served their country in uniform. It was certainly time well spent.”
