LOOKING for the perfect prom dress, but don’t want the eye-watering price tag or the waste that comes with a one-night outfit? Local homelessness charity, HARP has the answer.
HARP is inviting students, families and fashion-lovers to its Preloved Prom, Evening and Cruise Wear Sales Event, offering a stunning selection of dresses and suits at affordable prices – all while supporting a more sustainable way to celebrate.
The event takes place at HARP’s Leigh 3 Broadway West, Leigh on Sea shop, over three days between Friday 30 January and Sunday 1 February.
The main event opens to the public from 1pm on Saturday, but for those who’d like a more private, relaxed experience, exclusive appointment slots are available on Friday evening and Saturday morning until 1 pm.
Private appointments offer a 40-minute session offering dedicated time and guaranteed changing room access. These sessions must be pre-booked in store with a £10 refundable deposit, redeemable against a purchase. To keep the experience comfortable, groups are limited to no more than four people per booking.
As an extra treat, the first 50 dress sales will receive a goody bag and a glass of fizz. All money raised from the event goes towards HARP’s work to help local people who are at risk or experiencing homelessness.
Anna Wallace, Head of Charity Shops at HARP, said: “We’ve been collecting some truly beautiful outfits over the past few months, and we’re so thankful to everyone who’s donated their prom dresses to be loved all over again.
“Prom outfits can be expensive and are often only worn once, so if you’re looking for a more sustainable and affordable prom this year, we’d love you to come along, try on some dresses and enjoy the experience.”
Whether you’re shopping for prom, an evening event or a cruise, this is a chance to look amazing, save money and give preloved fashion another moment to shine while at the same time helping HARP to raise funds locally.
