Experience Capoeira

A CLASS at Leigh Community Centre combining music, culture and martial arts has been launched this January.
Capoeira classes now run every Thursday at Leigh Community Centre with Professor Cachorro, part of the Grupo Luanda family.
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art and game that blends Dance and flowing movement, acrobatic and inverted kicks, music, rhythm, song spirituality, culture and community/
A spokesperson said: “Join a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging space where everyone is supported to develop skills, knowledge, and confidence—no matter your background or experience.
“Classes are structured, welcoming, and a place for all to develop and explore and enjoy Capoeira.
“We focus on the fundamentals of movement, music, and the jogo (the game)—built on mutual respect, shared energy, and community.”
Classes will run every Thursday from 7 to 8pm.
