WESTCLIFF’s Palace Theatre are continuing their celebration of local live bands with a double bill at Dixon Studio Sessions this month, when MG Boulter and The Grand Old Echo make their debuts at the regular series of events on Thursday 26 February.
Serving his apprenticeship in numerous bands in the hotbed of the Southend-on-Sea pub
rock scene M G Boulter has been quietly working at creating rich and evocative story songs since 2013. Garnering praise from reviewers like Uncut describing his work as “gorgeous in a word” and R2 listing him as “a weapons grade songwriter”, M G creates vignettes of suburban lives and seaside communities and is a contemporary voice in the long tradition of the singer-songwriter.

With an emphasis on lyrics, musicianship and storytelling, the duo use singing and rapping to bring an edge of London grit to a lively folk-rock sound. Sure to be a great night of contemporary, original song writing, the February Dixon Session is a must-see date for any music lover’s diary.
Tickets are on sale now online at palacetheatresouthend.co.uk or by calling 0343 310 0030.
