Menopause Support Group

A LEIGH clinic is launching a free monthly menopause support group after teaming up with a qualified nurse from Westcliff.
Nurse Emma Gracie has partnered up with M.K. Aesthetic Clinic owner Olena Kapinus to provide essential support and care for women in the community.
Nurse Gracie said the group was created in response to a lack of NHS resources available to support women during this important stage of life.
She explained: “There is a huge need for this, as most NHS GP services don’t receive relevant training and many women are being prescribed inappropriate medication. I recently left nursing, but was qualified for more than 20 years and have trained in menopause and breast care.”
The first group session is set to take place on Thursday, June 4, at 6.30pm, and warmly invites women to come along and take part.
“The group is for women who may need support, those who would simply like to talk with others experiencing the same thing, or women who just want to learn more about this stage of life and its potential symptoms,” Nurse Gracie added.
The first session will take place at the clinic, located at 135 St Clement’s Gate, Broadway.
