A HANGER at Southend Airport is set to be the venue for a beer and music festival this summer.

The Vulcan Restoration Trust has announced the new event, to be held over two days on August 4 and August 5, which will see live music, street food, and locally brewed beers come together for a one-of-a-kind occasion.

Admission to the music and beer festival at the Vulcan is £18 each day for adults, and £4 for accompanied under 18s.

This will include a complimentary festival beer glass, and £3 off your first pint with Black Box Brewery.

Other breweries that have confirmed attendance are Datum Attitude Brewing Co and Tipsy Bubbles.

Alongside the beer, gin bars serving Pimms, Prosecco cocktails, as well as street food vendors, will be offering their wares.

Bands to play at the festival include The Long Run, Rooskin, Throwback to the Future, Ruby Robinson & Jazz Quartet, plus solo artists.

Jamie Keene, a member of the events committee at the Vulcan Restoration Trust, said: “This is a new and exciting event planned for 2023.

“It is going to be a great two-day event on the Friday and the Saturday, where we have got local breweries, local street food vendors, and local bands playing inside Hanger Six at Southend Airport with XL426 as the centre piece.

“This is going to be a truly spectacular event and we can’t wait to see you all here.”
