Art Trail Triumph

IT has been an exciting year for the Art students at Belfairs Academy. The summer term has been packed with enrichment opportunities; their talent being recognised in this year’s Leigh Art Trail.
Students entered the Southend Schools Competition and achieved first place in almost every category – an outstanding accomplishment, particularly as the winners were chosen by a public vote.
Grace, who won first place in the competition, said: “The Academy has given me so many great opportunities, including trips and competitions, which have helped to develop my skills and appreciation for the arts.”
Miss Absolom, Head of Art at Belfairs Academy, said: “At the Academy, we fully recognise how art can truly enrich a young person’s life.
“We take great pride in our students’ work, exhibiting the work of more than 300 GCSE Art students in our Summer Showcase. We also provide opportunities for students to become involved in community projects, such as the Christmas window displays, students running watercolour workshops in the community and the Leigh Art Trail.
“We are very much looking forward to the year ahead!”
