Meet Rochford Councillors - Rochford residents are being invited to meet their councillors at new Rochford District Council Surgeries.
Rochford residents are being invited to meet their councillors at new Rochford District Council Surgeries.
The new programme of Rochford District Council Surgeries aims to offer residents across the district the opportunity to ask a question about their local area, directly to Rochford District councillors.
Launching this month, the surgeries will give residents the opportunity to meet with the Leader of Rochford District Council, Coun Adi Malviya, and other councillors to discuss local issues, council services and projects that matter to them.
The first surgery will take place on Saturday 26 September, from 9am to 11am, at Mill Hall, Bellingham Lane, Rayleigh. Further surgeries will be held in locations across the district throughout 2026 and 2027.
Residents will be able to request a private 10-minute appointment by completing an online form and submitting a question in advance. Questions must relate to a Rochford District Council service or responsibility and be non-political in nature.
Coun Adi Malviya, Leader of Rochford District Council, said: “I want residents to have more opportunities to speak directly with the Council and the people elected to represent them.
“These surgeries are about listening, answering questions and having open conversations about the issues that matter most to our communities. Whether it’s a council service, a local project or a question about what’s happening in the district, this is a chance for residents to come and speak to us face to face.”
Appointment requests will be reviewed to ensure they relate to matters the Council is responsible for. Appointments will then be offered on a first come, first served basis.
Following the appointment sessions, residents who have attended will also have the opportunity to meet and speak informally with councillors in attendance between 11am and 11.30am.
Information leaflets featuring councillor contact details will also be available, helping residents stay connected with their local representatives after the event.
Residents can request an appointment at www.rochford.gov.uk/RDCSurgeries
Further surgery dates and locations across the district will be announced at a later date.
