Concert For Parkinson’s - A FUNDRAISING concert in Leigh raised more than £550 for Parkinson’s UK.

A FUNDRAISING concert in Leigh raised more than £550 for Parkinson’s UK.
Musicians from John Seeley’s Jazz and Saxophone Group took to the stage at The IronWorks café, based in Leigh Community Centre, for an afternoon of musical fundraising.
The 15-strong orchestra, led by professional saxophonist John Seeley, entertained visitors with a variety of musical numbers, with the money raised helping Parkinson’s UK continue its work supporting people living with the condition and their families.
Mr Seeley’s Jazz and Saxophone Group brings together musicians of all abilities and performs a varied repertoire, including jazz standards, Latin classics and audience favourites such as Disney tunes.
The group rehearse every Thursday evening, 7.30pm to 9.30pm at The Fisherman’s Chapel, New Road, Leigh, and are a relaxed, friendly, welcoming group.
All ability levels and instruments are welcome and they are always looking for more members to join their Jazz family.
Mr Seeley said: “Parkinson’s is a cause close to the heart of many people in the group, so we were delighted to raise funds to support this important charity.
“I’m really proud of the group for such a great performance.”
A spokesperson from IronWorks added: “Thank you to the fabulous John Seeley Jazz Band for entertaining us today with your wonderful music.
“Congratulations on raising over £500 for Parkinson’s UK.”
