Care Home Oktober Fest

A LEIGH care home collaborated with a local brewery to host their own Oktoberfest, bringing people of different generations and backgrounds together through food, drink, music and shared enjoyment.

Oktoberfest is the world’s largest Volksfest held annually in Munich, Germany.

In recent years, it has become a global celebration of the food, culture and beer of the country, with many venues and places around the world joining in the thematic festivities.

Beauleigh Court in Leigh was decorated in true Oktoberfest style, creating a wonderful atmosphere for the residents, staff and the wider community

The care home was joined by Leigh-on-Sea Brewery, who gave everyone an insight into the history of their brewery and how they make their beer.

Residents and members of the local community also enjoyed a tasting session, with the opportunity to sample four different beers.

In the evening, residents tucked into delicious bratwurst hot dogs, rounding off a day filled with great company, new experiences and plenty of Oktoberfest spirit.

Reece Lilley, Customer Relations Manager at Beauleigh Court said: “A huge thank you to Leigh-on-Sea Brewery for joining us, sharing the history of your brewery and giving our residents and community members the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic beer-tasting experience.”
