A WOMAN was sexually assaulted and five men were attacked during a “disturbance” in Rayleigh High Street.
Police were called to the incident in the town in the early hours of Sunday, March 12.
Officers say a 24-year-old man from Basildon has been charged in connection with the incident.
He is now bailed under the condition that he does not enter parts of Rayleigh.
A spokesman for Essex Police Rochford District said: “We were called to an incident in the High Street Rayleigh in the early hours of March 12 following reports of a disturbance.
“Upon arrival, officers established that five males had been assaulted during the incident and a female had been sexually assaulted.Six attack victims
“A 24-year-old man from Basildon was arrested at the scene and conveyed to custody.
“He was charged and bailed to court in April.
“He has bail conditions not to enter parts of Rayleigh, High Street, Eastwood Road, Websters Way and High Road for any reason or make contact with prosecution witnesses.”
