Havens Half Marathon - Leigh-on-Sea

REGISTRATION is open for Southend’s Half Marathon.

The popular annual event is taking place on June 11 with a course along the seafront that is fast and traffic free: ideal for both first time marathon runners and seasoned sprinters.

Every runner taking part will as be fundraising for the vital care given by Havens Hospice charity.

Once runners have competed the 13.1 mile course they will received a commemorative medal.

Jane Hopkins, organiser of the event, said: “Whether you’re running for fun, to remember a loved one, or to achieve a personal best, every mile will be making such a difference to all the families we care for, ‘Making Every Day Count.’-

The event sign up and registration starts at 7.30 am, and the race begins at 9am on East Beach, Shoeburyness, SS3 9AD.

Advanced entry fee is £30 for affiliated runners and £32 for non-affiliated, plus £10 for a t-shirt.

On the day entry fees are £35 for affiliated runners and £37 for non-affiliated.
