RAYLEIGH library welcomed its youngest ever new members, when eight babies from an NCT group signed up to join their local library, with the youngest being just two weeks old.
The mothers, who all met at a local antenatal group based at Rayleigh Baptist Church, decided to make the library their first trip out together, to register for library tickets and enjoy the Baby and Toddler Rhyme Time session of songs and stories.
“It’s a miracle we all made it here and that no one was late, especially as it starts at 9.30.” said Jessica Green, pictured left with three-week-old Penelope.
“The youngest of our group is just two weeks old and the oldest babies are only seven weeks, so now they’ve all arrived safely into the world, it’s great to finally be celebrating together and we thought the library would be the perfect place to go.”
The visit was enjoyed by all, and baby Sophie’s big brother Charlie, two, demonstrated the actions to the rhymes to all the little ones.
Ms Green added: “It was great fun and we’ll definitely be back for the next one.
“The babies might be tiny, but we still joined in all the songs and especially the Hokey Cokey finale.”
Baby and Toddler Rhyme Time is for all pre-schoolers and runs at Rayleigh Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.30-10am.
It’s free to attend, so there is no need to book.
