A MAN has been charged and is set to appear in court over an alleged incident at a sheltered housing scheme.
Armed police and dozens of emergency services descended on the Yantlet sheltered housing scheme in Leigh earlier this month after reports of a man armed with a bow and arrow.
Daniel Cousins 62, of London Road, Leigh has now been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and two counts of criminal damage.
He will next appear at Basildon Magistrates Court on September 6.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “A man has been charged following an incident in Leigh-on-Sea.
“Officers were called to reports of someone with a bow at a block of flats in London Road at around 7.25pm on 1 August.
“Officers attended and arrested a man.”
