A WESTCLIFF man has been charged following serious assault in Southend High Street.
A man and a woman, who were arrested within two minutes of a serious assault in Southend have been charged and were remanded into custody.
Officers were called to Southend High Street at around 6:20pm on Monday, August 14 following reports of a man being seriously assaulted outside WH Smiths.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries, not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Within two minutes of the assault being reported, officers arrested a man and a woman in connection with this investigation.
Lisa Allen, 42 of Hastings Road, Southend has since been charged with Section 18- wounding with intent, possession of a class B drug and harassment.
Michael Darcey, 36 of Crowstone Road, Westcliff has been charged with Section 18- wounding with intent.
They have both been remanded into custody and will next appear at Basildon Crown Court on 13 September.
Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this assault or have any CCTV, dashcam or video footage to contact them.
