A LEIGH music promoter is launching a new club night in Southend.
John Pearman is one of the co-founders of the Indie Cult Club, which will start hosting monthly nights at Chinnerys.
The vision is to bring legendary sounds from the 90s to present day hits, and promises to be an engaging experience for punters.
Mr Pearman explained: “I go to around 30 or 40 gigs a year and really enjoy going to them, but what frustrates me is when you arrive and are standing around with not a lot happening.
“The support band are often not related to the main band and at the end of the night – after the best part of the show – you usually just have to go home.
“We wanted to create a club night where everything is happening, when you walk in the DJ is playing the same music you booked to see and with the support band playing the same.
“At the end of the night you don’t have to leave, you can stay and dance for another hour if you’d like.”
Mr Pearman is encouraging people of all ages to join the club as indie music spans the generations.
He added: “We want everyone from 15 to 65 to have fun, it’s not fancy or posh it’s a place for everyone.”
Indie Cult Club will launch on October 6 with Toploader and will be followed by Republica in November and All the Young and Bez in December.
