Christmas Pop-Up market.
A POPULAR Leigh Pop-Up Christmas market, featuring over 70 artists and small businesses, is ready to make its return this November.
This eagerly anticipated event, a highlight in Leigh’s annual calendar, is scheduled to take place at the Leigh Community Centre on Saturday, November 18, and Sunday, November 19, running from midday to 4 pm on both days.
Attendees can explore a diverse array of stalls featuring businesses and crafters from Essex and beyond.
The event is organised by the group Leigh Pop-Up, who have opened applications for stall holders.
A spokesperson said: “Leigh Christmas Pop Up is back! November 18th and 19th.
Applications are now open. Email [email protected] for an application form.
“With over 70 local artists, designers, crafters, makers and small businesses under one roof the Leigh Pop Up Christmas market is not to be missed.”
CWRA meeting
THE next meeting of Chalkwell Ward Residents Association’s (CWRA) will feature a talk about the work of Southend’s Community Safety Unit
Attendees will also have the opportunity to question the speaker, Interim Community Safety Manager, Daniel de Bond.
After the talk, we will continue with the business part of the meeting in which members are updated
on matters affecting the ward, and generally have the chance to raise matters of local concern with
one of or more of our ward councillors, who report back on ward-related matters and answer
questions.
This meeting will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, 11 October, starting at 7:30pm.

Entry is free to members, and annual membership from April-March costs £5 per year per individual or £10 per household.
Non-members may attend in an observer-only capacity at a cost of £1 per person.

Southend Anglo-Italian Circle
THE Southend Anglo-Italian Circle will feature an evening of Italian board games.
A spokesperson said: “This month we invite you to practise your Italian by taking part in an evening of Italian board games – including easy-to-play games such as Scarabeo (Scrabble), Cluedo and Viaggio in Italia (Journey Round Italy).
“Friendly atmosphere and simple language.”
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 18th October 2023 at the Leigh Community Centre (room 8), Elm Road, Leigh-on-Sea. SS9 1SP.
Doors open at 7:30pm.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive promptly for the 8pm start, as the centre’s main doors operate as exit-only after 8pm.
