A LEIGH group donated hundreds of pounds to Southend’s leading homeless charity.

Leigh Floral Group donated £225 to HARP following a festive gift-wrapping competition.

A spokesperson for HARP said: “Our annual competition to wrap a gift for HARP is always popular and makes us all take time to remember those less fortunate than ourselves.

“Homelessness, poverty and deprivation blights the lives of so many our City.

“The evidence is clear as we go about our everyday lives.”

They added: “Huge gratitude to Karen Cobb and the lovely ladies at Leigh Floral Group!

“They’ve not only donated wrapped gifts and a generous £225 check to boost our Christmas campaign, but also added a festive twist with a wrapping competition.

“The Santa-themed gift clinched the top spot.”
