A MAN has been charged with assaulting police officers and a public order offence.
Essex Police were called to reports of a disturbance at a property in Cranley Road, Westcliff- at about 7.15pm on Saturday December 9.
A man was arrested at the scene.
One officer at the scene sustained an injury to their neck and another sustained an injury to their hand.
Ryan Seymour, 32, of no fixed abode, has been charged with three counts of assaulting an emergency worker, one count of intentional strangulation and one public order offence.
Detective Superintendent Shaun Kane said: “I would like to thank my officers for their professionalism on this occasion.
“We will not tolerate any emergency service workers being assaulted in the line of duty.”
