A LIFE-SAVING device has been installed at a Hockley church for the use of the community.
The defibrillator was donated by funding from the community and a leading UK heart charity.
The machine is located at the front of Hockley & Hawkwell Methodist Church, Main Road, following fundraising and a donation from the charity London Hearts.
A spokesperson for Hockley & Hawkwell Methodist Church said: “We’re pleased to announce that a new defibrillator for public use was installed on the front of the Church last week.
“We’d like to express our thanks to the local Hockley community for all donations received towards this project and also to London Hearts who kindly provided some funding and supplied the equipment.”
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest.
