Leigh On Sea News: Stage School’s 22 – A STAGE school in Leigh is celebrating 22 years of coaching young talent.
Singer Stage School in Elm Road was founded in 2002 by Sandra Singer.
Since that date, Ms Singer has seen thousands of talented youngsters pass through the school’s Leigh doors before going on to big roles on stage screen dance and television nationally and internationally.
In this way, the school has consistently provided young actors with routes into big-name productions including series leads for CBBC, as well as Matilda the musical, the West End version of hit a Netflix show Stranger Things and Matilda the Musical.
This year, the 22nd milestone will be celebrated with a showcase, and one of their popular West End Summer Stage Schools open to all youngsters.
Throughout the week, students will partake in workshops, masterclasses, and rehearsals.
From perfecting singing techniques to mastering choreography and honing acting skills, each day presents a dynamic learning journey.
During the week, Singer Stage School will also be looking for new students to join the school from September
“We will be talent spotting during that week – most important are raw talent and enthusiasm!” said Sandra.
Many of Ms Singer’s ex-students also send their children to the school, and their summer school will see West End industry professionals, some of whom hail from Leigh, come to the school for the exciting course.
She added: “The school trains students to the industry standards and expectations, to hopefully enable them to grow and work in the industry as performers.
“The standard of the schools training and mentoring is exceptional for those with a passion to work at some point.”
