A LEIGH children’s author held a launch event for her new book.
Laura Diebelius held an event to celebrate the release of her second book, ‘I’m Going to Have a Brother’ at Read on Sea bookshop in Leigh Broadway.
Ms Diebelius, who in her day job works as a Digital Manager at the House of Lords, has transformed her personal love of writing into a new-found success with children’s books, each centred around a sibling’s experience of a new baby.
A mother of two, Ms Diebelius was inspired by the experiences of her two daughters to pen a tale entitled ‘I’m Going to Have a Sister’, which was published last year, and recently won the gold medal for the Wishing Shelf Books Awards.
This April, Ms Diebelius launched the sequel, ‘I’m Going to Have a Brother’ with a book shop reading event and craft session.
Ms Diebelius said: “It was wonderful to see so many children at my launch event on a rainy Sunday morning. Following the book reading, the children were entertained with some arts and crafts, while the adults enjoyed a coffee and catch up.
“As an author, there’s nothing quite like seeing children with your book in their hands, especially in this digital age. Both my books are stocked at Read on Sea and if you like books and coffee, there’s no better place in Leigh”
