Test Track 10

THE Dunton Test Track 10. This event is set within the grounds of the Ford Dunton Campus site in Laindon, Essex, offering a safe, challenging and almost traffic free race experience.

It also offers participants and spectators a unique opportunity to see areas of the Ford site normally prohibited to the general public, with participants having full access to the actual Test Track.

Leigh Striders had three runners taking part – Kim Todd, who did the 10k finishing in 1:00:16, and Rachel Riggs and Neil Hubbard who both did the 10 mile event finishing in 1:06:23 and 1:14:02 respectively.

Rachel was also the first lady back! She was thrilled to come home with a trophy and said: “It was a really well organised race with a great turn out.

“The marshals were all so encouraging too. Many of them cheered and told me I was in front as I ran past around half way, so I was over the moon to have been able to keep going steady and finish first lady.

“It’s my first race win so an amazing feeling.”

Next up for Rachel are a couple of half marathons – Southend in June and Pleshey in September.
