CONSERVATIVE Candidate Mark Francois has launched his re-election campaign with a rally in Rayleigh.
Mr Francois, who has represented the Rayleigh (then Rayleigh and Wickford) constituency in Parliament for 23 years, kicked-off his bid to be re-elected with a well-attended rally at the Rayleigh Conservative Club, followed by a campaign photocall at the iconic town clock, in Rayleigh High Street.
Speaking about the launch, Mr Francois said: “I believe I have been a hard-working local MP for some twenty-three years and I hope my constituents will re-elect me, to continue working hard on their behalf.
“In the last year alone, I have helped several local schools through the RAAC crisis, saved local station ticket offices from closure, helped win funding to expand Southend Hospital’s A&E Department and am now leading the project for a new Special Needs School in Rayleigh, which has just been officially approved.
“I hope that sort of work-rate will count for something with my constituents when we get to polling day.”
