A WESTCLIFF care home treated family members of its resident to a special day out at the races following some bereavements.
Two Crowstone House residents passed away in December 2023, prompting the care home to treat the daughters of the residents to a Ladies Day at Chelmsford race course.
Bringing families together staff and ten daughters enjoyed a fun-filled outing, setting off from the seafront-based care home to bet on the horses, and watch a number of musical performances.
Julie Barnard said: Here at Crowstone House, we not only care about the wellbeing of our residents, we also care about the wellbeing of their relatives.
“With this in mind, we arranged a day out to the Chelmsford race course for Ladies Day. “It was a chance to get together, get dressed up and have a great time.
“Some of us won on the horses, others didn’t, but no one cared, we all had such a great time, with great company.
“The day finished off with Beverley Knight singing live in the grounds, followed by Denise Van Outen DJing until the end.
“Thank you, ladies, for a great day, and making it so special.”
